The 第一年体验主任 (FYE) is responsible for the overall design and coordination of strategies to guide and support first year college students.  Facilitates focused efforts to support first year student enrollment, 增强持久性和留存性, 加强学生参与, and promote pathways toward completion.  The Director engages others throughout the college to develop coordinated strategies to support students’ entry and transition to college; promote academic preparedness, success and recovery; promote engagement in 学生生活, academic/职业发展 activities; and actively assist students as they work through a pathway of academic and career readiness achievement toward goal completion. The Director is responsible for the assessment of first year student outcomes and recommendations for strengthening practices.  Reports to the Dean of Academic Support and Success.  Some evening hours, weekend hours and/or travel to sites required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the overall design of programs and services to support first year student enrollment, enhance their persistence and retention, 加强他们的参与, and promote pathways to goal completion.
  • Collaboratively engage others throughout the college including academic 建议, 职业发展, 学术院长和教员, 学习支持服务, 学生生活, and members of the enrollment management team to develop and coordinate focused strategies to support students’ entry and transition to college; promote academic preparedness, success and recovery; promote engagement in 学生生活, academic/职业发展 activities; and actively assist students as they as they work through a pathway of academic and career readiness achievement toward goal completion.
  • Plan and implement first year programming for students at main campus and all college sites. Some examples include common first year reading program, 新生迎新, 建议, 及注册(NSOAR), 新生大会, 父母取向, 夏天的桥梁, 第一年研讨会, 等.
  • Maintain active working partnerships with all college offices, departments and schools to share information about campus resources to support students’ successful transition to LCCC.
  • Serve on college committees such as Enrollment Management Team and Student Success and Retention Committee.
  • Select, train and supervise Peer Mentors to assist with new student entry and FYE 倡议s, 作为分配.
  • Collaborate with Academic Deans and 教师 for each School on the further development, implementation and outcomes assessment of first year student success courses.
  • Coordinate the academic early alert communication plan, managing and assigning timelines when and what information is sent to students.
  • Collect data and assess first-year student outcomes. Develop and provide data reports to college constituencies for further analysis and recommendations for improvements. Coordinate planning and implementation of improvements to achieve desired persistence, 留存率和完成目标.

教育:

  • Master’s degree in Higher 教育 Administration, 咨询, 心理学, 教育, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Foreign degrees – must provide a US equivalency report of your degree credentials with your transcript, if not, your resume will not be accepted.

  • Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, 法案151,儿童虐待史, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting)

工作经验:

  • Three (3) years of demonstrated work experience in higher education related to implementation and assessment of student success 倡议s.
